Lightweight grappler Jordan Leavitt returned to the UFC win column earlier tonight (Sat., May 31, 2025) at UFC Vegas 107 LIVE on ESPN+ from inside UFC Apex in Las Vegas, Nevada, stopping veteran Kurt Holobaugh with a dominant first-round submission (anaconda choke).
Despite coming off a lengthy hiatus from the cage, “Monkey King” was a sizeable favorite coming into Saturday night. Due to his high-level grappling and submission threat, most thought Leavitt would be too much for Holobaugh. They were right.
Leavitt wasted no time shooting in and scoring an easy takedown. Holobaugh is a savvy veteran who has some good submissions of his back, but he wanted no part of “Monkey King’s” antics. However, once Holobaugh returned to his feet Leavitt quickly picked him up and slammed him on his head. Holobaugh tried it again, but found himself in a tight guillotine choke.
As the two lightweights transitioned to the ground Leavitt switched to a super tight anaconda choke. Holobaugh played defense for a bit before he decided to go to sleep. Leavitt walked off with a return submission finish in dramatic fashion to push his UFC record to 5-3.
Check out the final moments of the fight in the above video player and Leavitt’s post-fight celebration below. “Monkey King” usually busts out an awkward twerk, but this time around he relied on an old classic.
